There are many casinos in the state, the biggest number being on anchored riverboats. The largest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American casino in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gambling space, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, such as twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous varieties of poker; as well as three eatery’s, monthly shows, and betting lessons. One more big Native American casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and 14 table games. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four restaurants. There are many other dominant Iowa gambling halls, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a riverboat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend paddle wheel boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa paddle wheel boat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open all day and night, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot riverboat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday 21 tournaments.

Iowa casinos provide an excellent amount of tax money to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has permitted the funding of a good many state wide activities. Visitors have grown at an accelerated percentage along with the demand for services and a gain in employment. Iowa casinos have been helpful to the advancement of the market, and the affection for betting in Iowa is widespread.
