Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is not allowed. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat casino, contains 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that features many conveniences in addition to the gambling den, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
